Solitary wasps (Sphecidae: Steniola) – hyperparasite of bees – Wasps in this genus are known to predate on beeflies (i.e., Anthrax, Poecilanthrax) which parasitize bees.

Steniola is distinguished by the bright color pattern, and long face and tongue. It is active late in the summer.
